Student Ministries Pastor: The Search Is Over!

I am so excited to announce that Scott Parks will join Central Community Church staff as the Pastor of Student Ministries. Scott grew up in San Diego, California and felt a call to the ministry at the young age of 16. During Scott’s fulltime ministry over the past 8 years he has had the opportunity to pastor thousands of students as well as teaching at numerous camps, school assemblies, conferences, and events. Scott and his wife Candice have been married since September 10, 2005 and have a one-year old son, Joshua Kenneth Parks.

After much prayer and many conversations with Scott, Candice, and so many others, we are convinced that God has prepared Scott uniquely for this role. We look forward to what God has in store for Scott and the students as they seek to be conformed into the likeness of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Scott will begin immediately as he prepares for his family’s move from California and to get settled in his new role. Then, in early February, he and his family will make the physical move to Wichita.

So, no matter who you are or where you live, you CAN be a part of this adventure! How?

  • Pray for Scott. Begin praying for Scott and his family that they will be safe (both physically and spiritually) as they make this significant transition in their lives.
  • Pray for the students. Pray that the connection between Scott, his family, the students, and their parents will be forged strong quickly through their common love and adoration for Jesus Christ.
  • If you're part of the Central Community family, you can welcome Scott and his family. Warmly greet them and invite them into your lives. They are leaving their homeland and will need an open and nurturing place to ease this transition. Have them over for dinner, take them out for coffee, or whatever it takes to envelop them into the Body of Christ, here at Central.

I thank God for His patient and steady hand upon us during this transition. I also thank Him for all the volunteers and staff that He used to continue the ministry as we sought His will in this important decision.

Whoo-Hoo! Praise God!
